8. Private Gardens
The story tours of private gardens are a real treat of any Garden Writers Symposium, and the 2009 symposium in Raleigh was no exception. These tours offer a chance to see the best gardens of the region, to talk with the garden-makers and to discover new plants, plant combinations, and design ideas. Here’s a photo gallery of some of my favourite private gardens.

  1. Funny how we can be on the same tour in the same gardens and see entirely different things. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.

  2. Hi Kathy,
Yes, it’s interesting what different things catch our eyes — and how well (or not) the camera captures them!

I enjoyed meeting you at the TweetUp where I picked up a copy of the Washington Gardener — loved the story on mulch, especially the warning about volcano tree mulch — if only our municipalities would listen…

    Cheers,
    Lorraine

  3. WHERE ARE THE BOTTLE TREES??

  4. Hey Lorraine,

It was good to met you at the Tweet up and GWA. Happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to my garden, Helen’s Haven.
