Alas, I missed his visit to Toronto. My back garden has become so shady that I've pulled up most non-performers and have replaced them with a combination of hostas, ferns, and astilbe. I worry that (I think it was Martin Galloway who came up with the expression) that I've planted a salad bar for slugs! ...pat.
