John Brookes at the Toronto Botanical Garden, February 18 to 25, 2014

John_Brookes_269x178Often described as the world’s most influential garden designer, John Brookes is paying a week-long visit to Toronto. Author of more than 30 books on garden design and winner of numerous awards, Brookes is giving two lectures on February 24 and 25 and a Master Class from February 18 to 21 at the Toronto Botanical Garden.  In his new book, John Brookes Garden Design Course, he writes, “Today, at the beginning of the 21st century, we are increasingly adopting a stance that we are not superior to nature, and forcing a plan upon it, but that we are part of it and are becoming more and more sensitive to it.” You have three chances to catch John Brookes while he’s in town, so there’s no excuse for missing him!

For details and to register, visit the Toronto Botanical Garden.

Read what one of my favourite garden travel bloggers, the Galloping Gardener, has to say about Brookes’ own garden in Denman, UK.
